Matt Whitaker Tells Newsmax: Hunter Biden Has ‘Home-Field Advantage’

Former Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker suggested to Newsmax on Wednesday that amid the media spectacle surrounding Hunter Biden’s gun case trial, there may be a home-field advantage for the Biden family due to the trial taking place in Delaware, their de facto home state. Whitaker pointed out the heavy media presence, the presence of first lady Jill Biden in the front row, and the fact that many in Delaware have a connection to the Bidens through voting for Joe Biden in various elections.

Whitaker expressed concerns about potential bias in the jury, saying, “I think it’s going to be, you know, no matter what the law is or the facts show, there is going to potentially be, some, intended or unintended bias to these jurors.” He contrasted the situation with Donald Trump’s case in New York City, where Whitaker believes Trump did not receive fair treatment.

Despite these concerns, Whitaker hopes for a fair trial and emphasized the importance of justice and the rule of law. He stated, “Let’s hope that justice prevails. Let’s hope the rule of law stands for something because the American people are watching this very carefully.”

The New York Times reported that efforts would be made to ensure an objective verdict, urging jurors to focus on the facts and not be influenced by the defendant’s last name or prominent figures in the courtroom.
