Matt Whitaker tells Newsmax: Trump Administration Reveals Cohen as a Deceiver

Former Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker told Newsmax on Monday that lawyers for former President Donald Trump’s New York business documents case will continue to discredit Michael Cohen as an unreliable witness when he takes the stand again today.

Whitaker mentioned that Cohen’s testimony has been inconsistent, and the defense team plans to reveal his lack of credibility through a strong cross-examination. He emphasized that Cohen has been fabricating stories and cannot be trusted.

Regarding the alleged payments, Whitaker stated that they are not illegal according to federal campaign election laws and criticized the case for potentially being based on such payments under New York law.

Whitaker expressed his belief that the case is weak and does not require further defense. He also criticized Judge Juan Merchan’s alleged conflict of interest and suggested that a directive verdict should be issued.

He concluded by stating that the government has not proven the case beyond a reasonable doubt and asserted that there is no need to put Trump on the stand.

When asked about the jury’s potential verdict, Whitaker predicted a hung jury or even a defense verdict of not guilty due to the lack of evidence.
