Matthew Whitaker Tells Newsmax: Justice System Must Serve All Americans
According to Matthew Whitaker, the former Acting Attorney General under President Donald Trump, Hunter Biden’s felony convictions were a result of the Justice Department attempting to conceal his crimes.
During an interview on Newsmax, Whitaker stated that Biden’s three felony convictions are just the beginning, as he is set to face a tax evasion trial in September. The Justice Department allowed other alleged crimes by Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, to expire under the statute of limitations.
At the Wilmington, Delaware, trial, jurors found Biden guilty of lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, making false claims on the application by denying drug use, and illegally possessing the gun for 11 days. The jury deliberated for about three hours over two days.
Whitaker revealed that the Department of Justice was prepared to offer Biden a favorable plea deal on the gun charges until the judge intervened.
“They were caught red-handed,” Whitaker said. “The judge caught wind of this and raised critical questions.”
In light of the convictions involving Trump and Biden, Whitaker emphasized the importance of a justice system that serves all Americans.
“It should not be used to target prominent political candidates on either side,” Whitaker emphasized. “Cases should not be shrouded in mystery regarding charges and convictions.”
