Melania Trump to Host Republican Fundraiser Supporting LGBT Community
Former first lady Melania Trump is scheduled to host a fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans on April 20 at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
According to their website, the Log Cabin Republicans describe themselves as “the nation’s largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBT conservatives and allies.”
They have been advocating for equality for over 40 years through their state and local chapters, their office in Washington, D.C, and their federal and state political action committees.
Politico reported that the former first lady has a close relationship with the Log Cabin Republicans, who honored her at a dinner in 2021 at Mar-a-Lago. Former President Donald Trump also spoke at an event the group hosted in Palm Beach in 2022.
Despite her popularity as a surrogate for her husband, Melania Trump has been relatively absent from public appearances while her husband is on the campaign trail.
The New York Times mentioned that Log Cabin Republicans president Charles Moran revealed that Richard Grenell, the former ambassador to Germany, is also expected to attend the fundraiser.
