Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee believes that former President Donald Trump was the real winner of the first Republican presidential debate. Huckabee stated that no other candidate differentiated themselves enough to be a serious contender against Trump. He also appealed to Trump’s experience running the country as a reason for him to be nominated again. A poll showed that 58% of potential Republican primary voters would support Trump for the party’s presidential nomination, unchanged from before the debate. Huckabee also commented on President Joe Biden’s mental aptitude, expressing concern about his continual gaffes and inability to read a teleprompter.
