Mike Pence’s Coalition Unveils Ad Campaign Against Trump’s RFK Jr. Nomination – One America News Network

On Wednesday, Advancing American Freedom—a group founded by former Vice President Mike Pence—initiated an advertising campaign to challenge President Donald Trump’s nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services, as reported by The Hill.

The campaign includes a mobile billboard that will circulate around Capitol Hill and the upcoming March for Life rally, a prominent anti-abortion event at the National Mall, which is America’s most frequented national park. Alongside this, the six-figure initiative also features digital advertisements that will be displayed in Washington, D.C., over the next few weeks as Kennedy awaits his confirmation hearing.
The advertisements reportedly emphasize Kennedy’s past remarks supporting abortion access, his statements during a measles outbreak in American Samoa regarding vaccines, and accusations that vaccines may lead to increased rates of autism among children.
However, according to the BBC, “Samoa’s low vaccination rates are in part due to the deaths in 2018 of two children given a wrongly-mixed vaccine.”
“In July 2018, two infants died in Samoa after receiving vaccinations against measles, mumps, and rubella, which raised concerns locally about the vaccine’s safety,” the outlet reported.
Recently, Kennedy, whose confirmation hearing schedule remains uncertain, has had discussions with numerous lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
As mentioned by The Hill, letters signed by thousands of physicians and public health experts have expressed concerns that his “unfounded, fringe beliefs could greatly damage public health measures across the nation and globally.”
Nevertheless, he is not the first public figure to scrutinize the medical industry as a whole.
A 2023 study from Johns Hopkins Medicine estimates that approximately 795,000 Americans experience fatal or life-altering effects from diagnostic errors each year, underscoring a significant issue related to medical error-related fatalities in the U.S.
Currently, no Republican senators have explicitly declared their opposition to his nomination. Kennedy may still be confirmed even if he loses up to three GOP votes, provided all Democrats vote against him.
Advancing American Freedom has been vocal in its opposition to Kennedy’s nomination from the outset. Last week, the organization reached out to U.S. senators urging them to oppose his nomination due to his previous support for abortion.
Notably, Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) shared on December 17th, 2024, that his meeting with Kennedy was constructive. They primarily discussed issues concerning the pharmaceutical industry and abortion, as detailed in his posts on X.
“He committed to reversing the Biden Administration’s Section 1557 rule and stated that all his deputies at HHS would be prolife. He also mentioned that he believes there are too many abortions occurring in the U.S. and that we cannot maintain our status as a moral leader in the free world with such high abortion rates,” Hawley elaborated.
During his campaign, Trump has indicated that while he personally aligns with pro-life views, he will leave decisions about abortion to individual states. Trump has also assured that he would not impose a federal ban on abortion, which Democrats have speculated he might attempt if re-elected.
