Morris Responds to Newsmax on NY Times Poll, Asserting Underestimation of Trump Vote
According to a recent New York Times poll, former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden are tied at 43% support for the 2024 presidential election. However, political adviser Dick Morris believes that the poll understates the level of support for Trump. Morris, appearing on “American Agenda” on Newsmax, stated that his own polling, as well as polling conducted by John McLaughlin, shows a smaller number of undecided voters, with around 46-47% supporting Trump and 42-43% supporting Biden. Morris argues that the Times poll has a higher percentage of undecided voters, which he believes is inaccurate. He claims that when properly probed, it will reveal that Trump actually has a significant lead.
Morris’s comments come in response to a McLaughlin poll from last week, which showed that if the general election were held today, 46% of respondents would vote for Trump, compared to 44% for Biden. The poll also indicated that 9% of respondents were undecided.
While the New York Times poll suggests a tight race between Trump and Biden, Morris and McLaughlin’s polling indicate a stronger level of support for Trump. However, it is important to note that both sets of data come from different sources, and it remains to be seen which prediction is more accurate.
