Most Rasmussen Poll Respondents Support Deportation of Migrants Instead of Amnesty

According to a recent survey by Rasmussen Reports, 52% of voters would choose a candidate who favors deporting all illegal immigrants over one who supports granting amnesty. 36% would vote for the candidate who favors amnesty, while 12% are undecided.

The survey also highlighted that 75% of Republican voters prefer the candidate who advocates for deporting all illegal immigrants, along with 34% of Democrats and 50% of unaffiliated voters.

There is a clear partisan divide on this issue, with 57% of Republicans strongly supporting deportation compared to only 22% of Democrats.

Senator Marco Rubio defended the policy of mass deportation on “Meet the Press,” emphasizing the need to address the illegal immigration issue strategically.

The survey also revealed that a majority of Democrats (56%) support amnesty for illegal aliens, while only a minority of Republicans (18%) and unaffiliated voters (34%) agree with that stance.

Despite some differences in opinions based on gender, race, income level, and political affiliation, support for deportation is generally higher among white voters and those with annual incomes between $30,000 and $50,000.

President Biden’s strongest supporters are more in favor of amnesty for illegal immigrants, while those who strongly disapprove of his performance strongly oppose it.

Lastly, the survey showed that the majority of respondents prefer using the terms “illegal alien” or “illegal immigrant” to describe foreigners who cross the U.S. border in violation of immigration laws.

The survey was conducted among 1,072 likely U.S. voters from May 12-14 and had a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points at a confidence level of 95%.
