MSNBC commentator Joy Reid has gone viral for her meltdown following the outcome of the 2024 election, blaming “White women voters” for not showing up to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.

The liberal panel was discussing the Democrat’s crushing defeat in North Carolina, a critical swing state which former President Donald Trump won by nearly two million votes.
“In the end, they didn’t make their numbers. We have to be blunt about why, black voters came through for Harris, white women voters did not,” Reid proclaimed.
“That is what it appears happened in the state. That message was not enough to get enough white women to vote for Vice President Harris,” Reid’s outrage continued. “This will be the second opportunity that white women in this country have to change the way they interact with the patriarchy.”
“But if people aren’t receptive to it and if people vote more, you know, party line or more on race than on gender, and on protecting their gender, there’s really not much more that you can do but tell people what the risks are and leave it to them to do the right thing,” she added.
Social media viewers blasted Reid for being a “race baiter,” blaming one demographic, rather than criticizing Harris for not running a more successful campaign.
“Joy Reid is a racist wretched human. The Democrat Party needs to distance themselves from her evil,” stated one commenter.
“For Joy Reid, it’s always about white people instead of people. She will never change that mindset,” another added.
Former President Trump was able to completely break through the Democrats’ blue wall, winning Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, on his way to winning the popular vote as well.
Harris acknowledged that her path to the presidency relied on the blue wall, in which she underperformed Biden’s 2020 election performance in nearly every county.
Former President Trump was able to secure at least 13% of Black voters nationally, and around 45% of Latina voters, according to CNN exit polls.
The figure was up from Trump’s 2020 performance, which saw Trump winning just 8% of Black voters and 32% of Latinos, marking a large demographic shift in POC voters in favor of Trump.
As Trump’s victory got more apparent, liberal political commentators leaned into Harris’ race and gender as the reason for her defeat.
“I’m thinking about the people who are not a part of anybody’s elite who are hurting tonight,” stated CNN’s Van Jones.
“There are African American women who know a little bit about being talked down to, and know a little bit about having their economic dreams crushed, who tried to dream a big dream over the past couple of months. And tonight, they’re trading in a lot of hope for a lot of hurt. They were hoping that maybe this time – this time – one of their own could be seen as worthy,” he added.
