In his address to Congress, Trump praised DJ’s extensive battle with brain cancer, marking one of the most emotional moments of his speech on Tuesday evening. DJ attended in a police uniform and proudly displayed his new police badge to the spectators.
Nevertheless, the two far-left hosts leveraged this heartfelt moment to criticize Trump during their MSNBC panel discussion.
In her commentary, Maddow labeled Trump as “disgusting” for showcasing DJ’s courageous struggle against the illness, especially considering he was initially given months to live.

“I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer, but I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters.”
“For the record – and this is appalling – the president made a spectacle out of honoring a young man who has thus far triumphed over pediatric cancer – as if the president had a hand in that,” the leftist host lamented.
“I hope he lives for another 95 years and achieves all he wishes to in life. Given his battle with childhood cancer, his ambitions are likely clear to him,” Wallace commented, expressing she felt “joy” for the boy’s moment.
“I hope he has a prosperous career as a law enforcement officer, but I hope he never needs to defend the U.S. Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters, and if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who take their own lives,” she concluded in a convoluted assertion.
“And I hope he isn’t one who has to testify against those who committed acts of seditious conspiracy only to see Donald Trump pardon those individuals.”
The responses to the hosts were overwhelmingly negative on social media, with many users branding them as “disgusting” for politicizing DJ’s brave battle with the devastating disease.
“MSNBC just exploited DJ Daniel to attack President Trump. THESE PEOPLE ARE SICK AND TWISTED,” one user posted on X.
Another remarked, “Rachel Maddow is appalling. She couldn’t refrain from involving the poor boy in politics. What a wonderful night for DJ Daniel! Maddow needs to move past TDS!”
“MSNBC actually politicized DJ Daniel’s experience at the Joint Address tonight. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and Nicolle Wallace is discussing suicide and January 6th? She should be terminated,” another user expressed in an X post.
