Napolitano Tells Newsmax: Single Georgia Call Insufficient Grounds for Charges Against Trump
Former New Jersey Superior Court judge Andrew Napolitano does not believe that the controversial phone call made by former President Donald Trump in Georgia justifies his potential indictment. Trump’s call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, in which he is heard asking him to find enough votes to secure his victory, led to possible charges being filed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. However, Napolitano argues that the call alone does not warrant a criminal conspiracy charge unless there are others involved who may have incriminated themselves to the prosecutors and jurors. This comes after a court clerk in Fulton County confirmed that there are 10 indictments filed against individuals in the court’s 2020 election case, including charges against Trump. While the details of the charges are still unknown, a Reuters report suggested that criminal charges against the former president were briefly posted on the court’s website. Newsmax TV, where Napolitano made this statement, is a rapidly growing cable news channel in the United States.
