Napolitano urges Newsmax: Let Trump Jury Determine if “Liars Speak the Truth”

Former judge Andrew Napolitano spoke with Newsmax on Friday about the ongoing criminal trial of former President Donald Trump in New York City. Napolitano emphasized that the jury must determine the credibility of witnesses, particularly after the testimony of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.

This week, Cohen testified once again in Trump’s trial regarding alleged payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels. Trump is facing 34 felony charges related to falsifying business records concerning the payments to Daniels, and he has pleaded not guilty.

During an appearance on “Wake Up America,” Napolitano was asked about Cohen’s credibility as a witness.

Napolitano stated, “The government must accept witnesses as they are, even if they have their own faults. In this case, the jury must determine if liars can tell the truth, referring to Cohen’s history of lying. While Cohen was grilled during cross-examination, there appears to be enough evidence in the documents for a conviction.”

Discussing the possibility of Trump taking the stand, Napolitano expressed doubts about the wisdom of such a move. He highlighted the potential risks of an unhinged Trump testifying under oath in his defense, suggesting that Trump’s legal team would strongly advise against it.
