Netanyahu and Rep. Brian Mast visit Israeli soldiers injured in action

Following a meeting at the prime minister’s office in Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., paid a visit to Israel Defense Forces soldiers and Border Police officers who have been injured in the war. The visit took place at the rehabilitation ward of Hadassah Hospital Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem.

Netanyahu expressed his gratitude to Mast, who lost both of his legs while serving in Afghanistan, for his unwavering support of Israel and the soldiers of the IDF, according to the Israeli Government Press Office.

During their visit to the hospital, Netanyahu and Mast listened to the injured warriors and were impressed by their dedication and sense of mission. They also received updates on the medical status and rehabilitation process of the numerous wounded warriors who have been treated at the hospital during the fighting.

Mast, the only member of Congress to wear both IDF and U.S. Army uniforms, shared his own experience coping with his injuries with the wounded Israelis, as previously stated in JNS.

Earlier this year, Mast wore his uniform in response to a Palestinian flag displayed outside the office of Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. “Tlaib’s got her flag, I’ve got my uniform,” he said.

The visit was also attended by Tzachi Braverman, Netanyahu’s chief of staff; Maj.-Gen. Avi Gil, military secretary; Yuval Adar, deputy director of Hadassah; Dr. Tamar Elram, director of Hadassah-Mt. Scopus; and Col. Dr. Avi Banov, IDF chief medical officer.
