This week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented President Donald Trump with a unique piece of art, a “golden pager,” which references Israel’s retaliatory measures against Lebanon’s Hezbollah group from the previous year.

The framed artistic piece has been making rounds on social media for the last couple of days.
The inscription at the bottom of the artwork states: “To President Donald J. Trump, Our greatest friend and greatest ally. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”
Trump later acknowledged the gift, stating: “that was a great operation.”
This operation occurred in Lebanon last September, targeting Hezbollah militants who were collaborating with Hamas.
The strike employed pager devices that had been procured by Hezbollah members from a distributor. Unbeknownst to the terrorists, Israel had executed a plan with the distributor to implant mini explosive devices inside, resulting in the deaths of at least 37 individuals and injuring hundreds when the pagers unexpectedly “exploded.”
In response to the attack, Hezbollah stated: “We hold the Israeli enemy fully responsible for this criminal aggression, which also targeted civilians and led to the deaths of a number of martyrs and the injury of a large number with various wounds.”
According to Netanyahu’s office, the golden pager symbolizes the Prime Minister’s decision that marked a pivotal shift in the conflict and the beginning of undermining Hezbollah’s morale.
“This strategic operation illustrates the power, technological edge, and cleverness of the State of Israel against its foes.”
The assault on Hezbollah was initiated after the group launched missiles into Israel following Hamas’ attacks on October 7th, 2023, which claimed nearly 1,200 lives and led to the abduction of 251 individuals into Gaza.
In a recent discussion with Netanyahu, Trump proposed the idea of the United States assuming control over the Gaza Strip.
“We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings — level it out and create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area,” Trump elaborated.
“Look, the Gaza thing has not worked. It’s never worked. And I feel very differently about Gaza than a lot of people. I think they should get a good, fresh, beautiful piece of land, and we get some people to put up the money to build it and make it nice and make it habitable and enjoyable,” Trump continued, expressing that “I think they’d love to leave Gaza if they had an option.”
Critics have labeled Trump’s latest proposal as a form of “ethnic cleansing,” citing the potential displacement of around two million Palestinians. Nevertheless, Trump maintains that this move would be temporary, aimed at leveling and reconstructing the devastated area.
Moreover, some skeptics suggest that Trump’s plan contradicts the “America First” policy he campaigned on, which emphasizes reducing foreign engagements in favor of addressing domestic issues — all while the U.S. grapples with a national debt of $36 trillion.
