Macy’s, the chain of American department stores, has been accused of hiding one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sexual assaults at its flagship Herald Square, Manhattan, store in 2008.

The lawsuit was filed in Ohio by someone identified only as “John Doe” and it accuses Combs of orally raping him while he was supplying merchandise in the stockroom at a Macy’s in New York.

The lawsuit names Macy’s as a defendant and claims that the company acted to protect a “multi-million dollar” deal with Combs and his clothing brand after the non-consenting act.

The man alleges that he had been working as an “advisor” for the company Ecko Unltd. at the time of the assault, which was Combs’ rival clothing company. The allegations claim that Combs’ bodyguards violently attacked him prior to the sexual assault, striking him and threatening to kill him. Combs then allegedly forced the victim to perform oral sex on him while referring to the man as “Ecko.”

Additionally, after the alleged assault, Combs later “began passing out merchandise to an adoring crowd, as if nothing had happened.”

When the man tried to report the assault to Macy’s security, he allegedly received no follow-up on it and was even banned from the store soon after.

“Approximately three weeks later, Terry Lundgren, CEO of Macy’s, pressured Ecko Unltd. executives to fire the plaintiff because Macy’s had just signed a multi-million-dollar deal with Sean John Clothing,” the lawsuit says.

John Doe reiterated that after the attack, he was fired and stripped of his company-paid apartment. Ecko was not named in the suit.

“The plaintiff also believes that the report of the assault was destroyed or otherwise purged from Macy’s records, and no action was ever taken as a result of the report,” the suit states.

On October 1st, an additional 120 alleged victims have now come forward against Sean “Diddy” Combs, including a man who claims he was only 9-years-old at the time of the abuse.

In an unsealed indictment last month, prosecutors in the Southern District of New York accused Combs of sex trafficking, racketeering, and providing transportation for prostitution-related reasons.

Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. He has also entered a not guilty plea, according to his attorneys.

Combs was denied bail twice, but on Monday, the first steps toward an appeal of the bail decision were taken by his legal team, which now includes lawyer Alexandra Shapiro in addition to Teny Geragos and Marc Agnifilo.

Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, a singer who dated Combs on and off from 2007 to 2018, also filed a civil lawsuit against the music mogul last year. She claimed that he consistently raped and physically abused her. Combs and Ventura agreed to a hefty settlement just one day later.

The rapper and business owner has denied all claims against him, calling them “sickening allegations” from those looking for “a quick payday.”
