Newsmax Anchor Kari Lake Claims Trump Indictments Strengthen Supporter Resolve
Kari Lake, a former GOP candidate for Arizona governor, argued on Newsmax that the recent indictments against former President Donald Trump by the Department of Justice (DOJ) have only strengthened his supporters’ loyalty. Lake also claimed that the charges related to Trump’s alleged involvement in the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, constituted “election interference.” She accused the DOJ of targeting Trump for a potential 2024 presidential run. Lake’s comments came after the DOJ filed a court document accusing Trump of conspiring to defraud the country and obstruct a peaceful transfer of power. The case will be overseen by Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in the District Court for the District of Columbia. This is the second indictment against Trump, with a previous one linked to sensitive files found at his Mar-a-Lago property. Lake also criticized the DOJ for pursuing charges against Trump while considering a plea deal with Hunter Biden’s legal team, characterizing the charges as a distraction. Lake insisted that Joe Biden and his family members should also face handcuffs for their alleged criminal actions. Newsmax is a rapidly growing cable news channel in America.
