Newsmax to Holt: US Must Not Keep Intelligence from Israel

Retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier Gen. Blaine Holt emphasized on Newsmax Saturday that the Biden administration should not withhold crucial intelligence from Israel regarding the whereabouts of Hamas leaders in Gaza. Doing so sends a “weakening message” to U.S. adversaries, he said.

Holt, who appeared on Newsmax’s “Saturday Reports” with retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, President of Project Sentinel, pointed out that sharing intelligence with Israel could be beneficial in various ways, such as aiding in rescue missions of remaining hostages and limiting collateral damage through precision-guided systems on bombs.

A recent report in The Washington Post indicated that the Biden administration is reluctant to share key intelligence with Israel on Hamas leadership in Gaza unless certain conditions are met, further straining relations between the two allies. Holt expressed concerns that such actions could weaken the U.S. position and embolden its adversaries globally.

Shaffer echoed Holt’s sentiments, stating that withholding intelligence from an ally during wartime, especially when American hostages are involved, is unacceptable. He criticized the Biden White House for not adequately supporting allies and addressing critical issues like intelligence sharing.

Despite potential rifts between the U.S. and Israeli governments, Holt emphasized the importance of unity between the two countries, particularly in times of crisis. He stressed the need for collaboration to plan and execute recovery missions effectively.

Holt also raised concerns about the lack of cooperation between the U.S. and Israel regarding humanitarian efforts near the Gazan coast, underscoring the importance of unified action to address common challenges, including hostage situations.
