Nikki Haley’s Prospects Dim on Super Tuesday

Following her defeat to Donald Trump in her home state’s presidential primary, Nikki Haley vowed to remain in the race only to face an uphill battle against the front-runner.

The next battleground for Haley and Trump will be on March 5th, also known as “Super Tuesday,” where sixteen states and territories will hold primaries, offering 876 delegates, equivalent to 36 percent of the Republican National Convention.

Polls conducted prior to Trump’s decisive win in South Carolina showed him leading Haley by significant margins in all Super Tuesday states, including an 84 to 15 percent lead in Texas.

Despite hopes of a competitive race in Massachusetts due to the state’s moderate Republican voters, recent polling indicates Trump holding a lead of 55.4 to 38.3 percent over Haley among likely primary voters.

Prior to Super Tuesday, Michigan will see Trump facing Haley in the primary. With no party registration, the state allows crossover voting, potentially benefiting Trump as suggested by poll numbers favoring him by 79 to 19 percent.

Dr. Linda Lee Tarver, a Michigan GOP figure, highlighted the potential support for Trump among Black voters in Michigan, noting the positive impact of his policies on employment within the community.

Despite attempts to attract crossover votes in South Carolina and New Hampshire, Haley’s strategy did not yield the desired results as Trump emerged as the clear winner in both states.

Rep. Joe Wilson and GOP Chairman Amanda Outen expressed views favoring Trump as the presumptive nominee, with grassroots support increasingly leaning in his favor.
