Noem Suggests Biden’s Dog Should Have Been Put Down
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, a Republican, mentioned Sunday that Commander, President Joe Biden’s dog, may have needed to be euthanized.
Noem stated in an interview with CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” “Joe Biden’s dog has attacked 24 Secret Service people … so how many people is enough people to be attacked and dangerously hurt before you make a decision on a dog?”
In her upcoming book, “No Going Back,” Noem shared a story about her own dog, Cricket, a female wire-haired pointer that she had hoped to train for hunting. Unfortunately, Cricket proved to be “untrainable,” “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with,” and “less than worthless as a hunting dog,” according to Noem.
Noem made the difficult decision to shoot Cricket in a gravel pit, drawing parallels to Commander, stating that “a dog who bites is dangerous and unpredictable (are you listening, Joe Biden?) — especially if you are running a business where people interact with your dogs.” She explained in the interview that she made the choice “to protect people” over 20 years ago.
Commander no longer resides at the White House. Following 24 biting incidents between October 2022 and July 2023, he was relocated to an undisclosed location, as reported by The New York Times.
