NORAD Dispatches F-16s to Intercept Aircraft in Vicinity of Biden’s Vacation Destination
US air defense scrambled fighter jets to intercept a civilian aircraft that entered temporarily restricted airspace near Lake Tahoe, where President Joe Biden and Jill Biden are vacationing. Two F-16s fired flares to get the attention of the pilot and successfully escorted the aircraft out of the restricted airspace. A Coast Guard helicopter also participated in the intercept. The incident had no impact on Secret Service operations or the president. Joe Biden is set to return to Washington after a week of vacation in California’s Lake Tahoe region. No further details about the civilian aircraft or pilot were provided.
