NY Times Poll: Trump’s Policies Preferred Over Biden’s by Voters

A recent poll conducted by The New York Times/Sienna College revealed that Americans have a more positive view of Donald Trump’s policies compared to Joe Biden’s.

40% of voters stated that Trump’s policies had helped them personally, while only 18% said the same about Biden’s policies. Additionally, 43% of voters believed that Biden’s policies had negatively impacted them, nearly double the percentage for Trump.

Key findings from the poll include:

  • Even demographics affected by Democratic issues, such as women, were more likely to favor Trump’s policies. For instance, 39% of women believed Trump’s policies had helped them, compared to 26% who felt harmed by them.
  • Hispanic voters, who had previously opposed Trump’s border wall plan, now favored his policies compared to Biden’s by 37% to 15%, respectively.
  • Although black voters were the least likely to see benefits from Trump’s policies, they still viewed them more positively than Biden’s.
  • Overall, voters across various demographics were more inclined to believe that Biden’s time in office had been damaging rather than helpful.

The poll surveyed 980 registered voters from Feb. 25-28, with no reported margin of error.
