NYU Republican Leader Steps Down Following Controversial Comment About Barron Trump – One America News Network

The president of College Republicans of America (CRA) has stepped down following comments referring to President Donald Trump’s son, Barron, as “an oddity on campus.”

Kaya Walker, the president of the NYU chapter, caught the attention of national CRA leaders, who labeled her remarks as “inappropriate” and inconsistent with the “values and principles of our organization.”
After her remarks were made public in a Vanity Fair profile covering Barron’s social life at the Greenwich Village campus, she resigned from her position on Sunday.
Following this incident, CRA president Will Donahue extended a personal invitation for Barron to join their organization.
“Barron Trump embodies the future of the conservative movement, and we would be thrilled to have him as a member of College Republicans of America,” Donahue stated.
“Effective leadership is based on resilience, bravery, and the modesty to rise above trivial criticisms — qualities that Barron has already shown.”
Nevertheless, it remains unclear if the president’s son will accept the club’s offer. The CRA had already set a precedent by endorsing Barron’s father prior to the Republican primary, according to the statement.
Walker mentioned to Vanity Fair that Barron seems “rather like an oddity on campus. He attends classes and then heads home.”
She also shared that one of her professors joked Barron “doesn’t quite fit in here.”
The president’s son, known for his significant height of six-foot-nine, does not engage in much socializing on campus but reportedly enjoys video games and soccer with his fellow students.
“Our endorsement of President Trump is a fundamental part of our organization,” the statement emphasized.
The 18-year-old has garnered attention at the university since enrolling in the business school last fall.
