Obama refrains from endorsing Harris, advocating for open convention
Former President Barack Obama released a statement on Sunday commending President Joe Biden for his choice to withdraw from the reelection campaign. He refrained from endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, and instead advocated for an open convention to select a new nominee.
