Obama’s Close Advisors say He is Driven to Stop Trump
According to a former Obama administration member, former President Barack Obama believes that if former President Donald Trump wins November’s election, it could cause “incalculable damage” to the U.S.
Former Attorney General Eric Holder told USA Today that there would be “incalculable damage” done if Trump returns to the White House.
Holder also stated that Obama shared the same view and that it was what motivated him. He added that President Obama regularly chats with President Joe Biden and thinks the election “will be a very close race.”
The Washington Post reported Saturday that Obama and Biden had met for a private lunch at the White House in recent months and discussed the campaign.
Obama believes that the election is very consequential and feels that he is needed to help. One of Obama’s former close allies stated that the former president is playing several roles simultaneously, taking on a mentor-in-chief role from supporting school committee members and city councilors to helping presidents.
