Pam Bondi predicts a quick verdict will be beneficial for Trump, tells Newsmax
Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi told Newsmax on Wednesday that the jury’s decision to remain in the courtroom between closing arguments could be a positive sign for former President Donald Trump in his New York criminal trial.
After the defense’s closing argument on Tuesday, Judge Juan Merchan offered the jury the option to go home for the night and return the next day for the prosecution’s presentation. The jury declined the judge’s offer.
Jury deliberations were set to begin Wednesday after receiving instructions from the judge on the law governing the case and what can be considered in evaluating Trump’s guilt or innocence.
Bondi stated that the jury’s eagerness to deliberate and reach a verdict could be a positive indication for the defense. She also emphasized the importance of the jurors remaining unbiased and following the legal guidelines throughout the case.
Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, and he maintains his innocence. Bondi expressed hope for a quick verdict in favor of the defendant.
