Pelosi Criticizes MSNBC Host for Defending Trump

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., criticized an MSNBC host on Monday for defending former President Donald Trump instead of acknowledging the facts she was presenting.

Pelosi, now a regular lawmaker, was praising President Joe Biden’s job record while trying to paint Trump as having the worst job record of any president in history. However, host Katy Tur pointed out that the job growth under Biden was due to jobs returning after the COVID pandemic, which were initially lost during Trump’s time in office.

“Donald Trump has the worst record of job loss of any president. So we just have to make sure people know,” Pelosi said on “Katy Tur Reports.”

“That was a global pandemic,” Tur replied.

“He had the worst record of any president,” Pelosi responded, pointing at Tur. “We’ve had other concerns in our country. If you want to defend Donald Trump, that may be your role, but it’s not mine.”

“I don’t think that anybody can accuse me of that,” said Tur.

It was an interesting accusation by Pelosi, considering that Republicans often claim MSNBC to be supportive of the Democratic Party, Biden, and Pelosi.

Factcheck.org accuses Biden — and by extension Pelosi — of “misleadingly” comparing job growth under Biden post-pandemic with job growth under Trump.

The Biden administration is also inflating job numbers. In March, the number of federal government hires hit a record for the fifth consecutive month, according to the Daily Caller and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Biden administration added 71,000 government jobs in March, bringing the total number of federal employees to over 23,270,000, surpassing the previous record set in May 2010 due to a hiring surge for census collection.
