He claimed that the Biden administration had lost more American lives to COVID-19 compared to the previous year when there were no tools available. Pence criticized the administration’s handling of vaccine mandates, testing, and therapeutics. When asked about Dr. Anthony Fauci, Pence stated that Fauci had become a champion of authoritarian policies and that his role seemed to change after President Joe Biden said he would put Fauci in charge.
