Pence Defends Trump’s Right to Presumption of Innocence
Former Vice President Mike Pence stated that former President Donald Trump and the other 18 individuals indicted for attempting to overturn Georgia’s 2020 presidential election are entitled to the presumption of innocence. Pence criticized Trump, stating that the Georgia election was not stolen and that he had no right to overturn the election. Pence, who is running against Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, is considered a key witness in the Georgia case. Trump is charged with 13 counts related to soliciting officials to break their oaths of office. Pence also thanked Wisconsin House Speaker Robin Vos for withstanding criticism from Trump regarding the decertification of the 2020 election.
