Perry Johnson Informs Newsmax that RNC Employed Varied Polling Criteria for Candidates
Businessman Perry Johnson, a candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, claims that he was left out of the first GOP primary debate because the Republican National Committee (RNC) applied different criteria regarding polling for different candidates. The RNC set guidelines in June for candidates to qualify for the debate, including having a certain number of individual donors and polling at a certain percentage. Johnson argues that his campaign met all the qualifying polls and even had extra qualifying polls, but the RNC decided to disqualify one of the polls that showed him at 1.1%. he plans to file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission against the RNC and Fox Corp., alleging a “collusive effort to cherry-pick participants.” Johnson believes that the RNC does not want him on the debate stage because he is an efficiency expert who would trim their power and spending.
