Pete King Tells Newsmax that Trump Case Is a ‘Horrible Abuse’

The conviction of former President Donald Trump in New York City was described as a “terrible abuse of the criminal justice system” by former Rep. Pete King during an interview with Newsmax on Sunday.

King, a New York Republican, expressed his thoughts on “Wake Up America Weekend” with former Georgia GOP Rep. Jack Kingston, noting that the case against Trump was fabricated and unjust.

He emphasized that Trump, being a strong individual, has a strong support system behind him as a former president. However, King highlighted that this abuse of the justice system could happen to anyone who challenges the establishment or the liberal and progressive base.

Kingston also commented on the intense animosity the progressive left holds towards Trump and speculated that the sentencing on July 11 by Judge Juan Merchan might be biased, aiming to hinder Trump’s political activities.

Both King and Kingston expressed concern about the implications of such unfair treatment in the legal and political landscape, emphasizing the negative impact on the American public and the justice system.

Despite the conviction, Trump’s campaign reported a significant increase in fundraising, indicating a resilient base of supporters. King encouraged Trump to shift his focus from past elections to the broader implications of the ongoing legal battle and how it reflects the threats posed by the progressive left to the country.
