Poll Finds 80% of Iowa Republicans Identify as ‘Pro-life’
According to a recent poll, 80% of Iowa Republicans consider themselves “pro-life” and expect to participate in the upcoming presidential caucuses. Additionally, 77% of GOP voters express concerns for the Constitution and dissatisfaction with the government, while 71% identify as traditional conservatives. A majority of Iowa Republicans describe themselves as “anti-woke” and support abortion bans at both 15 weeks and 6 weeks. The poll also indicates that former President Donald Trump is the front-runner for the Republican nomination, with 42% of Iowa Republicans supporting him. Other notable findings include 46% identifying as “MAGA Republicans,” while 23% consider themselves “anti-Trump.” The survey shows a slight decline in the number of caucusgoers describing themselves as devoutly religious compared to 2016. The poll was conducted with 2,953 registered voters in August 2023.
