Poll from NY Times Reveals 73 Percent Believe Biden is ‘Too Old’ for Presidency

A recent Siena College poll, highlighted by The New York Times, has revealed that 73% of Americans believe that President Biden is “too old to be an effective president,” including 61% of his own 2020 voters.

The Times raised concerns about these poll results being a serious threat to Biden’s reelection, and former President Donald Trump mocked both the Times and Biden for these findings during his campaign rally in Richmond, Virginia.

“I’m running for president and leading in all the polls,” Trump declared at the rally, which was broadcast live and in full on Newsmax. “The headline in The New York Times tomorrow will show that Trump is ahead by a lot.”

Despite this, Biden continues to struggle, as even his own supporters are starting to doubt his capabilities.

The New York Times/Siena College poll, conducted from Feb. 25-28 among 980 registered voters, highlighted a significant change in how Biden’s former supporters view him, with 61% now believing he is “just too old” to effectively serve as president.

Special counsel Robert Hur’s report further reinforced this perception, stating that Americans see Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory” and “diminished faculties in advancing age.” Trump, who is four years younger than Biden, is seen more favorably on the age question, with 55% saying he is not too old like Biden.

Even some Biden supporters are expressing concerns about his competence. “He’s incompetent; he’s clearly struggling to fulfill his duties,” shared 35-year-old Brian Wells, a reluctant Biden supporter from Huntsville, Alabama. “He’s clearly reached the point where he’s too old for the job.”

Eric Mack, a writer and editor at Newsmax since 2016, reported on this poll. He is a 1998 Syracuse University journalism graduate and a New York Press Association award-winning writer.
