Poll: Le Pen, from the right-wing, likely to emerge victorious in French parliamentary election

According to a recent poll conducted by Elabe for BFM TV and La Tribune Dimanche, Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally Party would lead in France’s legislative election with 31% of the vote. President Emmanuel Macron’s Renaissance Party would come in third with 18%, and a left-wing party alliance would secure 28%.

The survey, which was carried out online with 1,502 adults on Tuesday and Wednesday, was released before Macron’s statement that he won’t step down if his party doesn’t win the election, as reported by Bloomberg.

Additionally, the poll indicated that 39% of respondents prefer Jordan Bardella, Le Pen’s political heir, to become the next prime minister of France, while 36% support the current premier, Gabriel Attal.

It is widely believed that Le Pen is the frontrunner for the 2027 election, as Macron is ineligible for reelection due to term limits.

Furthermore, the majority of participants (72%) consider Macron to be a liability for his party. As a result, Macron dissolved France’s National Assembly and called for a snap election after the far right outperformed his party in the European Parliament elections. The lower house elections are scheduled for June 30, with a runoff on July 7.

If Le Pen’s National Rally party secures a majority in parliament, Macron will have limited authority during the remainder of his term.

Le Pen stated at a rally, “We are prepared to assume power if the French electorate entrusts us in the upcoming national elections.”

Presently, Macron’s party holds 169 out of 577 seats in the lower house, while Le Pen’s party has 88.
