Poll Reveals 36% of Democrats Favor Newsom Over Biden for Primary Challenge

A recent survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports found that 36% of Democrats believe California Governor Gavin Newsom should challenge President Joe Biden in the 2024 election, while 43% disagree. The survey also revealed that 37% of likely voters have a favorable impression of Newsom, with 15% having a very favorable opinion, while 43% view him unfavorably. Among Democrats, 59% have a favorable view of Newsom. It was reported that Biden’s aides are unhappy with Newsom agreeing to debate Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, as they fear it may give the impression that Newsom is running a shadow campaign for 2024. The survey also showed that more men (40%) than women (36%) have a favorable view of Newsom, and that voters under 40 are more likely to have a favorable opinion of him.
