Pompeo Stands Up for Trump Amidst Latest Indictment Allegations
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo defended former President Donald Trump against his latest indictment and criticized President Joe Biden’s administration. Pompeo stated that blind justice, without favor based on political party, is a fundamental founding principle that the Biden administration has disregarded. Trump is facing charges in a four-count indictment related to the 2020 presidential election, including the January 6 protests at the Capitol. In April, Pompeo announced that he would not be entering the race for the presidency, while two others from Trump’s administration, former Vice President Mike Pence and former U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley, did enter the race. Pompeo has previously criticized Trump for having classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence. He also expressed disapproval towards Haley and others running against Trump, stating that some individuals had left the administration early when there was still important work to be done.
