Pope Francis Issues Written Message While Hospitalized – One America News Network

Pope Francis has released a written message following his hospitalization in Rome.

On Sunday, he shared a written message on X.
“I have recently received numerous messages of affection, and I was especially touched by the letters and drawings from children,” Francis shared. “Thank you for your support and for the comforting prayers I have received from around the globe!”
“I encourage you to continue your apostolate with joy and to embody a love that embraces everyone, as suggested by the #GospelOfTheDay,” one post stated. “Let us change evil into good and create a fraternal world. Do not shy away from taking risks for love!”
The Vatican also published a text prepared by the Holy Father, which Archbishop Rino Fisichella read on his behalf during the Holy Mass for the Jubilee of Deacons on Sunday.
“Brothers and sisters, happy Sunday!” the pope’s homily began. “This morning, the Eucharistic celebration with the Ordination of several candidates to the diaconate took place in Saint Peter’s Basilica. I extend my greetings to them and to all participating in the Jubilee of Deacons, which has been observed in the Vatican over the past few days. I also thank the Dicasteries for the Clergy and Evangelization for organizing this event.”
He went on to encourage the deacons to “continue your apostolate with joy and, as indicated in today’s Gospel, to be a testament of love that embraces everyone, transforms evil into goodness, and fosters a fraternal world.”
“Do not hesitate to take risks for love!” the homily continued. “I, for my part, am continuing my treatment at the Gemelli Hospital, where rest is also part of my therapy! I express my heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and health workers for their care and the dedication with which they serve the sick.”
Francis also noted that Monday marks the third anniversary of the large-scale war waged against Ukraine: “a painful and shameful event for all humanity!”
“As I reaffirm my solidarity with the suffering Ukrainian people, I invite you to remember the victims of all armed conflicts and to pray for peace in Palestine, Israel, the entire Middle East, Myanmar, Kivu, and Sudan,” the message stated.
“In recent days, I have received numerous messages of affection, and I have been particularly moved by the letters and drawings from children,” the pope mentioned. “Thank you for your support and the prayers for comfort from across the globe! I entrust you all to Mary’s intercession and ask you to pray for me.”
In an update on the pope’s health, the Vatican reported that he is conscious but still requires significant supplemental oxygen due to a respiratory crisis and blood transfusions.
They also noted that Francis remains in critical condition with a complex lung infection.
“The night passed peacefully; the pope was able to rest,” they stated.
Francis was admitted to a hospital in Rome on February 14th as his bronchitis worsened. On Saturday, doctors issued a statement indicating that the pope was in “critical condition.”
