On Thursday, the Holy See unveiled a short audio message recorded by the pope that same day.

“I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers for my health from the Square. I will accompany you from here,” he expressed.

“May God bless you and the Virgin protect you. Thank you,” he stated in his native Spanish.

This message was broadcast in Saint Peter’s Square, where prayers for the pope are held every evening.

Earlier on Thursday, the Vatican indicated that Francis was in a “stable” condition, with no signs of respiratory failure recurring.

On February 14th, the pope was hospitalized in Rome due to the deterioration of his bronchitis.
