Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers Provided $367 Million in Services in 2022
A recent report released by the Charlotte Lozier Institute reveals that pro-life pregnancy centers offered approximately $367.9 million in goods and services in 2022 following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
These centers, numbering 2,750, provided services worth over $100 million more than in 2019.
Michael New, a senior association scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, explained to the Catholic News Agency that there was a surge in demand for services, information, and guidance post the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
Since the June 2022 ruling, New noted an increase in donations to the institute and observed a leftward shift in the Democratic Party’s stance on abortion.
As a result of these developments, the resource centers conducted virtual and in-person sessions worth over $16 million in 2022 alone.
In the report’s foreword, Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser and Charlotte Lozier Institute Executive Director Karen Czarnecki emphasized the importance of emotional support and long-term commitment in addition to medical and social resources provided by pregnancy centers.
