Prominent Dominican Politician’s Son Fatally Shot in Texas
A tragic incident occurred at a gas station in Houston, Texas, where the son of a Dominican lawmaker was fatally shot. The police are currently searching for four men believed to be responsible for this targeted killing.
The victim has been identified as Luis Alfredo Pacheco Rojas, the son of Alfredo Pacheco, an important figure in the Dominican Republic’s legislature. The shooting took place on Monday evening, and police responded to the scene following a call about two men being shot.
Pacheco, 34, had been at the gas station with three other men, making a stop at the convenience store before returning to their vehicle. Four men armed with long guns approached in two cars and opened fire, leading to a targeted attack. Despite attempts to seek safety inside the store, Pacheco and another man were struck by bullets.
Following the shooting, the attackers fled the scene in their vehicles, and the police have released images of the suspects. Tragically, Pacheco succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. He was known as a rap musician performing under the stage name El Pikante.
The victim’s father, a prominent member of the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party in the Dominican Republic and the current president of the Chamber of Deputies, expressed his grief in a statement confirming the unexpected death of his son.
