Public School Trust Reaches All-Time Low, affirms Speaker McCarthy
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has criticized the Biden administration’s handling of public schools, citing a Gallup poll that shows public trust in U.S. public schools reaching a record low of 26%. McCarthy argues that this low trust is due to the administration’s policies that disregard the role of parents in a child’s development and label concerned parents as ‘domestic terrorists’. McCarthy promotes the Parents Bill of Rights, a bill supported by House Republicans but opposed by every House Democrat, which aims to strengthen the role of parents in their children’s education. McCarthy calls on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to allow a vote on the bill and prove that Democrats are not anti-parent.
