Ramaswamy Criticizes Another Trump Indictment as Disastrous
Multimillionaire entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy criticized the latest indictment against former President Donald Trump, stating that it was “downright pathetic” that the indictment had been publicly posted on the Fulton County court website before the grand jury had finished convening. Trump is believed to be part of 10 indictments issued by a Democrat District Attorney in Georgia. Ramaswamy, who is challenging Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, suggested that Trump file a motion to dismiss the indictment on the grounds of a constitutional due process violation. He argued that since the prosecutions against Trump are using novel and untested legal theories, it would be fair for him to use the same defense strategy. Ramaswamy stated that prosecutors should not be deciding U.S. presidential elections and that if they commit constitutional violations, the cases should be thrown out and the prosecutors held accountable. Ramaswamy even offered to write an amicus brief to the court himself in support of Trump’s defense.
