As reported by Fox News Digital, Ramaswamy’s campaign has submitted its Designation of Treasurer form to Ohio’s Secretary of State. This form is essential for candidates to fulfill prior to making any expenditures or accepting contributions.
Although Ramaswamy has yet to officially declare his intention to run for governor of Ohio, he has frequently hinted at it.
“A significant announcement in Ohio is scheduled for Feb 24. It won’t be your typical gubernatorial dog-and-pony show,” the prospective candidate mentioned to The New York Post on Saturday.
According to the Associated Press, Ramaswamy’s campaign launch is anticipated to occur on February 24th at Cincinnati’s CTL Aerospace Inc.
This filing follows the announcement that Ramaswamy had departed from President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative over a month prior.
Trump-Vance transition spokesperson Anna Kelly told Fox News that Ramaswamy “was instrumental in helping us establish DOGE.”
“He plans to pursue an elected office soon, which necessitates his exit from DOGE, per the structure we announced today,” Kelly elaborated. “We are very grateful for his invaluable contributions over the last two months and anticipate his continued involvement in making America great again.”
The gubernatorial election is set for 2026, as current Governor Mike DeWine (R-Ohio) cannot seek re-election after taking office in 2019.
