Rapper Macklemore Criticizes Biden in Latest Pro-Palestinian Track

Macklemore has made it clear that he will not be voting for President Joe Biden.

In a new song released on Monday, the Grammy-winning rapper expressed his political views by commending college students who protested Israel’s actions in Gaza.

The song, titled “Hind’s Hall,” references a building at Columbia University that anti-Israel protesters temporarily named. In the song, Macklemore criticizes the U.S. government for supporting Israel and praises the students protesting the war, as reported by CNN.

He raps, “The problem isn’t the protests, it’s what they’re protesting. It goes against what our country is funding.”

Additionally, the song targets the police intervention to break up protests on college campuses and criticizes the music industry for remaining silent. Proceeds from the song will support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.

Macklemore has openly shown his support for Palestinians. Following the Hamas attack on Israel, he mourned the loss of lives on both sides and called for a cease-fire to end the violence.

He emphasizes that criticizing the Israeli government is not antisemitism and states, “I can wholeheartedly love my Jewish brothers and sisters while simultaneously condemning the Israeli government for their actions.”
