Rasmussen Poll: Majority Believe Biden Protected His Son
Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business partner, testified before Congress that he had been on speakerphone calls with Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden during Joe Biden’s tenure as vice president. However, Archer claimed that the conversations only involved pleasantries and did not discuss business dealings involving Ukraine and China. Archer stated that Joe Biden was put on the phone to help Hunter Biden sell his brand. This contradicts Joe Biden’s previous statement that he never discussed his son’s business affairs with him.
A recent Rasmussen Reports poll indicated that 60% of likely voters believe Joe Biden has been part of an illegal cover-up to hide his involvement in his son’s foreign business deals. Additionally, 61% of voters view this as a serious scandal, while 58% agree with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s statement that Biden has used the weaponization of government to benefit his family. However, Democrats are less likely to view this as scandalous, with only 20% believing it is a serious scandal.
The poll also showed that voters of different races, genders, age groups, and political affiliations have varying views on the issue. Democrats and younger voters are less likely to see the scandal as serious, while older voters and conservatives are more likely to agree with the comparison of Biden to Nixon. Overall, 54% of moderates and 87% of conservatives view the scandal as at least somewhat serious.
