A new real estate platform reportedly enables homebuyers to verify their neighbors’ political affiliations before making a purchase decision.

Oyssey, a technology startup launching this month in South Florida and New York City, provides buyers with access to neighborhood political affiliations derived from election outcomes and campaign donations, along with housing trends and other social data.
“It’s about helping buyers find homes they truly love,” stated CEO Huw Nierenberg, a former real estate agent from Boston, in an interview with Axios.
Nierenberg explained that buyers’ priorities have shifted, noting that during home tours, “buyers often transition from inquiring about the water heater status to considering if they’d like to invite their neighbors over for dinner.”
The website acts as a comprehensive resource for homebuyers, simplifying the process of browsing property listings, signing contracts, and communicating with agents, all while integrating political data by block and additional consumer information.
Oyssey markets the service to real estate agents and brokers on a subscription basis, but buyers can access the platform for free through an invitation from their agents.
