Rep. Andy Harris urges Newsmax to report on the call to clean out the DOJ
When Democrat attorney general Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress in 2012 and the Department of Justice (DOJ) did not prosecute him, Rep. Andy Harris wasn’t surprised that Merrick Garland faced a similar outcome for defying House subpoenas, the Maryland Republican told Newsmax on Friday.
Even with the DOJ prosecuting Peter Navarro and Steven Bannon for the same offense related to the Jan. 6, 2021 events, Harris expressed his lack of surprise when Garland was not charged, highlighting the need for reforms within the agency.
“It’s the same as Eric Holder,” said Harris, who chairs the House Appropriations subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and related agencies. “His Justice Department didn’t prosecute him. And, look, the problem is that the fox is in charge of the chicken coop.
“The bottom line is this Justice Department has to be cleaned out.”
