Rep. Armstrong Tells Newsmax: Winning Back the House is the DOJ’s ‘Remedy’
Rep. Kelly Armstrong, R-N.D., informed Newsmax that winning back the House is crucial for oversight of the Department of Justice, as Attorney General Merrick Garland is likely to delay investigations until the end of this Congress.
During an appearance on “The Record With Greta Van Susteren”, Armstrong discussed Garland’s testimony on Capitol Hill, where the AG avoided confirming any coordination between the DOJ and state prosecutions of Donald Trump.
“The key issue here is whether there is coordination between the DOJ and those prosecutors, and it is our role in Congress to oversee these matters,” Armstrong emphasized.
Armstrong emphasized the importance of maintaining oversight, regardless of the composition of Congress.
“The ideal solution is to regain control of the House in the upcoming November elections and continue along this path. It is essential to have access to the audio recordings instead of just transcripts, as these issues are larger than any single question,” Armstrong stated. “We must ensure that Congress retains its oversight authority.”
“The attorney general and his team are skilled lawyers who understand the timeline and are likely to use delay tactics. Regardless of the outcome, we must persist in this direction,” he added.
