Rep. Ashley Hinson Tells Newsmax There is No ‘Accountability’ at the Border

Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, expressed to Newsmax on Monday that President Joe Biden’s administration lacks accountability regarding the border situation.

Reuters has reported a clash between a group of migrants and Texas law enforcement at the Rio Grande River. This incident occurred 10 days ago when the migrants tried to dismantle razor wire and fences, leading to several individuals being charged with “riot participation.”

According to The New York Post, some of the migrants responsible for the riot were released by an El Paso judge on Sunday awaiting trial. The judge criticized the El Paso District Attorney’s Office for not being ready to proceed with detention hearings for each defendant.

During an appearance on “American Agenda,” Hinson commented on the incident and the ongoing border situation, stating, “It’s a complete lack of accountability. Everyone who saw that footage understands the threat it poses to our country.”

She continued, “This is an invasion … The border crisis has compromised the safety of every American. Having visited the border twice and heard from law enforcement in my district, I can attest to the threefold increase in cartel-related drug activity since President Biden took office.”

Hinson emphasized, “The issue of safety and security demonstrates that every state, including states like Iowa, is a border state.”
