Rep. Tim Burchett, a Republican congressman from Tennessee, has called for a reevaluation of the funding for the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). This comes after NARA failed to release unredacted communications and documents related to Ukraine and the energy company Burisma sent and received by President Joe Biden and his son. Burchett suggested that lawmakers start firing people responsible for this failure and pointed out that there could potentially be more undisclosed emails. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, previously demanded that NARA hand over any unredacted records relating to Biden’s use of a pseudonym during his vice presidency as part of an investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings. However, NARA failed to meet the committee’s deadline.
