Rep. Chip Roy Tells Newsmax: “The Border Situation is a Joke”

Rep. Chip Roy from Texas expressed to Newsmax that securing the southern border has been a farce under the Biden administration. He mentioned that President Joe Biden could have taken action on his first day in office.

During his appearance on “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Roy criticized Biden’s decision to sign an executive order to temporarily suspend asylum requests once daily encounters exceed 2,500.

Roy questioned why Biden didn’t take this action earlier and added, “It’s all a joke. It’s all a sham. And everybody in America knows it.”

According to Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, the legislation H.R. 2 has been sitting on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s desk for 390 days.

Regarding the executive order, Biden emphasized, “The border is not a political issue to be weaponized.”
